CLIENT STORY
Pennies is a charitable organisation, enabling digital giving at the point of sale. To extend its established donation solution to Stripe terminals, Pennies partnered with Amdaris to deliver a bespoke mobile application enabling seamless payment rounding for charitable donations.
Industry: Charitable giving platform
The organisation faced the challenge of extending its established micro-donation solution to a new payments platform for the first time. While Pennies brought deep sector knowledge, a mature technical solution, and extensive experience delivering point-of-sale donations, the project required specialist Stripe expertise and rapid delivery to avoid disruption to live retail donations.
Amdaris led the project end to end, working closely with Pennies to define requirements based on existing technical documentation and proven solutions. Android and Kotlin were chosen to ensure compatibility with the Stripe Terminal S700, enabling real-time payment integration.
Their ability to complement Pennies’ existing technical capabilities with specialist Stripe expertise was critical to the project’s success. The team demonstrated exceptional responsiveness and technical depth, managing the entire project lifecycle from requirements to deployment. Their collaborative approach, combined with deep industry knowledge, ensured the solution met the unique needs of the charity sector and delivered tangible value within a challenging timeframe.
The solution was custom-built for the charity sector, prioritising seamless user experience and secure payment processing.
The team managed Stripe integration effectively, adapting quickly to a delayed release candidate and completing full testing within a compressed timeline. Proactive communication, daily sync calls, and flexibility around evolving requirements ensured delivery within a strict one-month deadline.
Key Highlights:
The outcome is a scalable, future-ready solution that supports efficient donation collection and retail-sector growth.
