Challenge
A slow-down in the company’s data centre meant its bandwidth was no longer sufficient for 500 employees. This created a suboptimal user experience and negatively impacted productivity.
In addition to this, parts of the IT infrastructure had reached capacity or end-of-life. This meant that following acquisitions, the client could no longer scale the platform quickly and without disruption.
As the organisation’s existing infrastructure was no longer fit for purpose, the company turned to Insight for a cost-effective, future-proof solution.

Solution and Outcome
To create a cost-effective and future-proof solution, Insight undertook a three-stage process beginning with its Discovery Workshop.
The Discovery Workshop enabled Insight’s consultants to understand the client’s needs and challenges in detail and highlighted that an on-premises solution would continue to best meet its specific requirements.
Following this, Insight’s Design Workshop facilitated the data centre design, focusing on HPE storage, and the migration and project plan. Insight’s solution was to replace the existing combined infrastructure and move to a full HPE system, alleviating the speed and bandwidth issues.
Thanks to the detail and diligence at the planning stage, the final implementation phase of the process was completed with zero hours of downtime. Over two weekends, without interruption to any operations, Insight swiftly installed the new hardware, configured all devices to enable remote access, and configured and updated all the software.
The company’s new data centre is free of all its previous problems. This enables higher productivity, improved employee experience, and future-proofing its ability to scale.
