AROYA Cruises, owned by Cruise Saudi, was launched in 2023 as the first Arabian cruise line. Insight modernised its flagship AROYA vessel, enhancing passenger experience, optimising crew operations and setting the stage for further advancements in the cruise sector.
AROYA Cruises, sought to modernise its IT infrastructure by partnering with Insight, for its maritime expertise. The key objectives were to upgrade the data centre infrastructure and the vessel's network to be scalable, fit-for-purpose, and secure.
The new infrastructure leverages three on-board data centres and real-time integration with cloud services, ensuring all applications are replicated in the cloud. A crucial aspect of this modernisation was enabling real-time payments, essential for the luxury retail experience on board, which relies on credit and cabin card transactions.
A significant focus was placed on the guest and crew Wi-Fi and wireless experience. The implementation included 2,000 access points that not only provide Wi-Fi but also location-based services, which greatly assist safety teams in quickly locating and interacting with individuals on the large ship. The project benefited from the Insight’s strong relationships with global vendors, allowing for the recommendation and implementation of best-in-class technologies and the realisation of significant value.
