Microsoft is simplifying the product terms for Windows Server and SQL Server subscriptions purchased under the Microsoft Customer Agreement (MCA) through Cloud Solution Provider (CSP) partners.
Starting April 1, 2026, these subscriptions will be eligible for License Mobility rights, giving customers benefits equivalent to Software Assurance in legacy Volume Licensing.
With License Mobility rights, customers can run eligible server application workloads in shared environments and with authorized outsourcing partners. This simplifies licensing and delivers clearer customer value through the new commerce experience.
CSP perpetual licenses remain unchanged and don't gain License Mobility.
No action is required to activate this benefit. The updated product terms will take effect automatically on April 1, 2026.
Our April 2026 Release Notes are available. A detailed overview can be found at the end of this page, or at the dedicated Cloud Commerce Platform (CCx) and Cloud Consumption Reporting (CCR) - Improvements & Developments page here
The Cloud Commerce platform (CCx) is introducing a redesigned search results experience to improve product discovery and browsing for all customers and account types. The new design features a modern, simplified interface with list view set as the default, while still allowing users to switch to a grid view based on preference. Search results now include product images and enhanced content areas to provide clearer and more informative product visibility.
Key functional enhancements include the automatic display of applicable promotions directly within search results, enabling users to quickly identify available offers and pricing benefits. In addition, the platform now retains search criteria when items are added to the cart, ensuring a smoother and uninterrupted shopping experience. Together, these improvements create a more intuitive, visually engaging, and efficient search experience, supporting streamlined purchasing across both 1‑Tier and 2‑Tier accounts.
The Cloud Commerce platform (CCx) is enhancing promotion visibility across subscription management for both 1‑Tier (1T) and 2‑Tier (2T) customers. These improvements ensure that all eligible promotions are automatically displayed during subscription upgrades and Term & Frequency (T&F) changes, giving customers full transparency into available offers and potential savings.
The platform now intelligently retrieves and validates Microsoft CSP promotions in real time, ensuring accurate pricing and eligibility before basket creation. Existing subscription functions, such as quantity changes, remain unaffected to maintain system stability. Overall, these enhancements deliver a more transparent, reliable, and value‑driven subscription management experience.
This enhancement introduces daily automated monitoring that identifies Microsoft subscriptions approaching expiration or auto-renewal within the next 7 days, triggering prominent banner notifications for Microsoft administrators upon storefront login. The banner message provides clear visibility into upcoming subscription events with direct navigation to subscription management pages, while including user-controlled dismissal functionality.
The notification system is designed to reappear daily if qualifying subscriptions continue to meet the 7-day criteria, ensuring persistent visibility until administrators take appropriate action.
The Cloud Commerce platform (CXCx) is implementing improved user navigation for Terms & Conditions management by creating an anchor link on the Account page that directly connects to the Terms and Conditions section.
This enhancement will link the "Action Now" button in the Terms & Conditions banner message directly to the relevant section on the Account page, eliminating navigation confusion and providing users with immediate access to required terms acceptance functionality.
This streamlined user experience reduces friction in the terms acceptance process and ensures customers can quickly locate and complete necessary compliance actions.
The Cloud Commerce platform (CCx) is expanding Adobe subscription renewal notifications to provide earlier customer engagement opportunities by adding 60-day and 90-day advance notifications for 1YC (1-Year Commitment) and 3YC (3-Year Commitment, Years 1&2) customers approaching their anniversary dates.
This enhancement builds upon the existing 30-day notification system by extending the functionality to identify and trigger notifications at these additional intervals, ensuring customers and account executives have time to plan for renewals and make informed decisions about their Adobe subscriptions.
The Cloud Commerce platform (CCx) is implementing comprehensive flexible discount functionality for Adobe subscription renewals, providing customers with transparent pricing visibility and automated discount optimization throughout the renewal process.
This enhancement introduces intelligent discount detection that identifies and applies appropriate flexible discount codes for both percentage and fixed discount scenarios, with real-time price calculations based on Adobe's order preview responses.
The system now displays complete pricing transparency in read-only mode, showing full-term prices alongside available flexible discount details, while providing interactive hover-over functionality that reveals specific discount information for eligible products.
The Cloud Commerce platform (CCx) is removing the "Download basket" functionality for both 1T and 2T customers to improve data accuracy and compliance standards. This change redirects customers to use the "Restore" cart feature instead of downloading cart contents to PDF, addressing critical issues where the download feature bypassed essential price validity checks and lacked appropriate pricing disclaimers.
The removal ensures customers receive accurate, real-time pricing information through the standard cart interface while maintaining proper compliance messaging and validation processes that protect both customer experience and business integrity.
More information will be shared soon.
