Microsoft Cloud service price increase from
April 1 2023

To adjust for local currency fluctuations and harmonise its prices for all Microsoft cloud services  within the European region, Microsoft has announced pricelist changes as outlined below in respect of the detailed currencies. 

Microsoft periodically assesses the impact of its local pricing for software products and cloud services to ensure there is reasonable alignment across regions and this change is an outcome of thatis assessment.   

Starting April 1st 2023, pricing for Microsoft cloud services will increase for the following currencies shown below: 

British Pound +9%  
Euro +11%  
Swedish Krona +15%  
Norwegian Krone +11%  
Danish Krone +11%  

What does this mean for our Enterprise Agreement(EA) clients? 

  • Clients who have an existing agreement in place and purchased online EA subscriptions ahead of April 1, 2023,  will not be affected by the price increase until the end of the agreed term (12 months or renewal date). 
  • Purchases and renewals made subsequent to and inclusive of April 1, 2023 will be subject to Microsoft's price increase. 
  • These pricing changes do not apply to on-premises licenses, on-premises subscriptions, and Software Assurance. 

 

What does this mean for our Microsoft Product & Service Agreement (MPSA) clients? 

  • Clients who have purchased MPSA online subscriptions ahead of April 1, 2023,  will not be impacted by the price increase until it is time for renewal (anniversary date or end of 12-month term). 
  • Purchases and renewals made subsequent to and inclusive of April 1, 2023 will be subject to Microsoft's price increase. 
  • These pricing changes do not apply to on-premises licenses, on-premises subscriptions, or Software Assurance. 

Things to do before the pricing update: 

  • Consider bringing forward any planned purchases to secure current pricing and contact your Insight Account Manager for further detail.
